Right Hand Design
I have been a freelance designer as long as I have been married - 11 years!
I have a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in Graphic Arts Imaging Technology.
I specialize in print, branding, & web design, with a love for Adobe CS and the Mac.
Because of my slight peppermint addiction I have great breath.
I solve problems - be it design, marketing, or just getting the printer to work.
I have three daughters under the age of five, so patience is a given.

There is nothing better than the smell of a printing press and the sound of pages whizzing by, then again maybe there are a few things better. I do enjoy being able to hold a finished project that I worked hard on, something you just don't get with web work. I have worked with printers all over the world on countless projects and have found that I enjoy every aspect of taking a design from concept to printed piece.
Christmas Compilation
This was a compilation project that was distributed through Radio Shack during Christmas. I like working on multi-volume designs because of the challenge to make them all look like they belong to the same family, but still able to stand alone.
Thou Shalt Laugh
I was given this project after version one. I carried on the same design theme, but I had to make it my own. In the beginning we used the hand to show the volume numbers. After the projects great success, we realized that after volume five we would have to change the look. We now emphasis the volume number instead of the hand.
70's Rock Gone Country
I love typography, and using it as the main design element on a cover is always fun. I wanted to really make the title jump out at the viewer in a fun modern way but still leave a hint of the old school country. I am not sure I accomplished this completely but the client was very happy.
The Busy Mom's Guide
Being married to a busy mom I was very well suited for this project. The goal here was to make the book look clean and organized just like most moms want their life to be. I like adding small touches like the little kitchen timer in the O of mom's, and the post-it note. I think those additions helped the clean sterile cover become a little more human.
Ultimate Worship Collection
I started into this project knowing that there would be many more to come in the series so I had to think ahead a little. Ultimate Worship did well in the stores and on TV and I have designed box sets and compilations off of this original design.
Chonda Pierce
This was a fun project to do because it allowed me to do extensive photoshop work. Click the file to your right and run your mouse over it and you will see the original before and after image. I always enjoy doing comedy work because you can get away with a lot more than you can on music work, even mess ups can be turned into a comedic design element.
INO Artist Poster & Sampler
I was given this task from INO Records, "take all 25 of our artists and put them into a fun creative poster that folds down into a CD sampler. Oh and remember some artists are rock, some are inspirational, some are young, some are old... make it all work together." I was proud of this solution because it tied them all together into a family. The design kept a nice unified look with the many different angles and poses I had to work with in each picture.
Worship Jamz
Worship Jamz was a project that started out as a single CD design years ago. After a few TV commercials it really took off and is still going today with various new titles coming out each year. I have really enjoyed the freedom to be fun and childlike with the design of this series and at the same time trying to stay within a genre specific look. If you click the image for a larger view you will see what the old designs looked like. The new look is for an older age group which I made to look a little more modern.
33 Miles CD
The 33 Miles cover photo is actually 4 photographs combined. Each band member liked his stance or expression in separate photos. Look over to you right and click the photo link to see the before and after. You can also view the other pieces I created for this project.
Sandi Patty
Sandi Patty is a Christian music industry veteran and is known around the world. I was honored to get to design her latest album. The goal of this album design was to convey a very organic and flowing feel, nothing harsh or too abrupt.
Various One-Sheets
I have done countless one-sheets, for countless bands and singers. I always enjoy them because I get to work off an existing design and I like to take that design and put my own spin on it. I am sure I will be doing them for many more years to come.
Various Packaging Projects
I think in 3D and that is why I find product packaging so much fun. Here is a sampling of a few I have done recently. I plan to move towards more packaging design in the future because of how much I enjoy it.
Thomas Nelson Ads
Ads, ads and more ads - I have created hundreds of ads for many different magazines, flyers, pressbooks, you name it. These are a few of the ones I did for Thomas Nelson.
Thomas Nelson Product Brochures
I must admit brochures are not my favorite thing to do. The cover is always fun but laying out the inside can become a tedious task. I have done so many now that I have created a nice workflow for myself to make it easier and faster. It does help if the client gives you ALL the information ahead of starting the design. Thanks Thomas Nelson.
Various CDs
I quit counting how many cd designs I have created. It is well over 150 now and growing. Living south of Nashville, the music business is a big part of my portfolio. I just grabbed a sampling above of the many I have done. It's beginning though to look like the CD business may be coming to a close soon, thanks to technology. I'll miss that 4.75" square.
BRANDING
Branding and I have a love-hate relationship. Sometimes a design will come in a flash of creativity, and other times it takes days to develop. I like the challenge of exploring every angle of a brand and then finding the best solution. I have also discovered that mowing the yard or going for a run can be the best time to solve branding issues. Who knew?
8 Life Shaking Moments
This was a church curriculum video series that I got to brand from the ground up starting with the logo. Having complete visual control of this project allowed me to have fun and really design it the way I wanted to. Check out some of the other related projects to the right. I was very proud of the directors and participants guides.
Galaxy Digital
This is a social media software company that I have been working with over the last year. The brand needed to to be modern and clean but at the same time personable and friendly. I think we came up with a great solution and I look forward to working on many more projects with Galaxy.
Full Flame Film Series
This was a multi-million dollar film series filmed on six continents. All I was given was the name so I was able to start from scratch on this design. I wanted to portray a huge open expanse with the white space and try to convey the global scope of the series. There were lots of related projects that followed it.
Latin Style
The Latin Style Roadshow was a proposal piece I did for Thomas Nelson. They were presenting it to Lexus to launch the book Latin Style. Everything you see I had to create from nothing, and make it look like these parties and events had already happened. If you click the image you will see my favorite piece, which was the gift bag on the car seat.
Zungz - Shoe Tongue Cover
I worked with Zungz for a year and a half helping them brand themselves and launch the company. We wanted the logo to be fun and at the same time say something about the product. Zungz is still in it's infancy but should be taking off soon. New product packaging and injection mold design were just two of the many lessons I learned while working with Zungz.
Acceptance Insurance
Acceptance needed an updated logo and a new look in the yellow pages. This project is still being worked on but here is where we are right now. I think their new look when completed will really help them look current.
Amy's Food
I talked to Amy's food about the design of their packaging.I submitted my design revisions and they politely said they are happy with their look. Click on the image and tell me what do you think. Can you read what Indian dish that is?
Various Logos 1
I have done many logos over the years so I grabbed a few for you to see. Click the image and you can see what I submitted to the client and what they actually picked.
Various Logos 2
Here are a few more logos. I could keep adding more but you would get bored. Click the image and you can see what I submitted to the client and what they actually picked.
Church Logos
Oh church logos! They can be easy and fun, or a long and tedious process. I have found it all depends on the pastor. Click the image to see what other ideas I sent them and which ones they picked. You truly never know which one they will pick.
TitanFlex Bikes
I approached Titanflex and wanted to give their handmade bikes a makeover. They did not have a set logo or look for their bike business, so I set out to give them one. I am happy to say that Titanflex bikes now have a great look and a great logo. I am working on the website now and that should be launched shortly. Click on the bike to the right to see the before and after bike graphics.
WEB
I have always loved the web, since my first time logging on back in 1995. Back then I never found web design interesting because of all the limitations it had. Today though designing for the web offers much more flexibility, and I have gained a new appreciation for and a desire to learn all that I can. Check back soon, because several of these sites are works-in-progress and will go live shortly.
Diamond Brand
The Diamond Brand retail site is my largest web project to date. Galaxy Digital and I worked together to include a full retail store, blogs and a social community engine. I will post a link when the finished site goes live.
Galaxy Digital
Zungz
The Zungz website has been and still remains a challenge. The main goal was to educate the consumer by providing an explaination of what a Zung is and why they should buy it. The next goal was to provide easy use retail site. We are still playing with ideas and may try another approach soon to see what works best.

Diamond Brand Corporate
The Diamond Brand Corporate site is very different from the retail site in that it is an information only site. I wanted to give the site an historical look, since the company prides itself in making canvas products since 1881.
Franklin Christian Church
This site has just begun and should be finished by the first of the year. The church site will be built using Wordpress as its content management system. This will allow the staff to keep the site up-to-date. I will also be adding a social network engine to the site called Buddypress. This allows church members to talk to one another and enables the church to have an online photo directory.
Titan Flex Bikes
The Titanflex site is an extension of the branding I did for them. I wanted the bike to be first and foremost - the star of the show. The site is under construction and is being built on Wordpress. This will allow the inventor of the bike, a well respected triathlete trainer, to start a blog to share his many years of experience.
